Work of Art Pinsperation

Several weeks ago, Stampin' Up! pinned a simple, yet darling card by Dawn Bourgette using the stamp set Work of Art on Pinterest. I knew it would be perfect for my All-You-Can-Stamp Buffet so I put my own twist on it:
Colors: Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Basic Black.  Stamps: Work of Art and Another Thank You.  Punch: Project Life Corner Rounder.  Accessories: 2013-2015 In Color Designer Sequins
This was a quick card that my customers just loved.  I also offered the "Hello There" stamp that Dawn used on her card and a birthday greeting as well.

I am running out of projects from my last class to show you so it's time to get back to the stamp room and create something new!  (Like my convention swaps which I haven't even started yet.)

Something for Baby

Here's another card I made with the Something for Baby set.  This was the baby card offered at my All-You-Can-Stamp Buffet a few weeks back and I used it for a swap this week too:

Colors: Smoky Slate, Whisper White and Coral Calypso.  Stamps: Something for Baby and That's the Ticket.  Big Shot: Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Ovals, Labels and Baby's Firsts Framelits.  Punch: Ticket Duo Builder. Accessories: Many Marvelous Markers, Mini Brads, Festive Paper Piercing Pack.
These colors must be right on trend for babies this year because I just got a shower invitation for a much younger, hipper new mom to be and it was these exact colors.  (So she'll be getting this card when I go to the shower this weekend).  I'm trying not to feel too old going to this shower since this new mom used to babysit my oldest when he was a baby.

Don't forget that the Something for Baby Bundle includes the stamp set and the matching Baby's First Framelits and when you buy them together, you save 15%.  And who doesn't love that!?!?

Hostess Exclusive Set: Bloom with Hope

Have you checked out the Hostess Section of the new catalog?  The stamps there are just fabulous this year and there is something there for every taste.  One that I knew I wanted to have is Bloom with Hope.  There are six images and five greetings in this set and it's just gorgeous!  Here is a card that my customers got to make with it at my All-You-Can-Stamp Buffet:

Colors: Blushing Bride, Baked Brown Sugar, and Very Vanilla.  Stamps: Bloom with Hope.  Big Shot: Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Punches: Scalloped Tag Topper, Itty Bitty Accents Punch, Project Life Corner Rounder.  Accessories: 1/4" Cotton Ribbon, Pearl Jewels, and Venetian Crochet Trim.

This set also has a Happy Birthday stamp that comes with it and I gave my customers the option of using that instead of With Sympathy.  For the ribbon at the top of the tag, I used a marker to color directly on Whisper White 1/4 Cotton Ribbon.  I love that this ribbon is so soft and easy to use.  It does come in Blushing Bride and that is what my customers used at the class, but I love that you can color it any color in a pinch. (Since I hadn't ordered the Blushing Bride ribbon when I was designing for the class).

I was very sad to see the Vintage Crochet Lace retired from the last catalog, but I do like the Venetian Crochet Trim that you can see peeking out from the Baked Brown Sugar Piece.  It adds a nice texture to your project.

The only way to get this set for yourself is to either host a party for you and your friends or place a hostess-qualifying order yourself.  When your party/order reaches $150 you get $25 to spend on any items in the book.  However, your money goes further when you use those hostess dollars to purchase Hostess-Exclusive Items.  For instance, the retail value on the clear mount version of Bloom with Hope is $27.95.  But when you use your hostess dollars to buy the set, you get it for only $17.  Contact me today, and let's get you on my calendar so you can get your own Bloom with Hope set!

Bloom for You & Fun Flower Punch

Wasn't the Stampin' Addict Blog Hop just fabulous this weekend?  If you missed out, you can still hop through the sites as they are all deep linked together.  Just start here.

Today, I have another card to show you that we made at my All-You-Can-Stamp Buffet.  This was actually an accidental card.  I intended to order the 2" circle punch with my first order but mistyped the numbers in and got the Fun Flower Punch instead.  We'll call it a happy accident.  I had it on my wishlist, just a bit further down.  Now that I had it, I had to order the Bloom for You stamp to go with it.  Here is what I made:

Colors: Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey and Whisper White.  Stamps: Bravo and Bloom for You.  Big Shot: Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Project Life Framelits.  Punches: Fun Flower, 7/8" Scallop Circle. Accessories: Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack, 2014-2016 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack, Tea Lace Doily, White Baker's Twine, Vintage Facet Buttons, Stampin' Blendabilities.
This stamp is a little tricky to line up with the punch because, like the Pansy Punch, the petals are each a little different.  But once you figure it out, it makes a beautiful flower. For the button in the middle of the flower, I used the darkest Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blendability and colored right on the button.  (Love that the alcohol markers work for coloring embellishments!)  I also love how the new Lovely Lace Textured Impressions Embossing Folder goes so nicely with the Tea Lace Doilies. Enjoy!

Stampin' Addict New Catalog Blog Hop: Sweet Stuff

http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums/general-stampin-talk/9523-new-catalog-blog-hop-starts-friday-june-20th.html#post431366
Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Blog Hop!  Haven't all the projects just been amazing! I know I've added a few more things to my list after seeing all the projects.  If you are hoping in order, then you've arrived from Debra's Heartfelt Inspiration and her look at An Open Heart.  Now I want that one for sure.  If you are starting here, all the blogs are linked together in a loop so you won't miss a thing.

I'm featuring the new stamp set Sweet Stuff on my blog.  Stampin' Up! has offered similar stamp sets in the past, but this one caught my eye for some reason and I had to have it.  The set features twelve stamps: seven cute little images to color and five greetings.  I have four samples to show you today featuring most of stamps in the set.

Bee Card: Colors: Whisper White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight.  Stamps: Sweet Stuff.  Punches: 1-1/4", 1-3/8" Circle, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle, Large Oval.  Accessories: Black Baker's Twine and Crystal Effects (wings), Stampin' Write Markers.
Ballerina Card:  Colors: Whisper White and Coastal Cabana.  Stamps: Sweet Stuff.  Big Shot: Fun Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Punches: Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin' Bendabilities
3x3 Miss You: Colors: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Old Olive and Whisper White.  Stamps: Sweet Stuff.  Big Shot: Circle Card Thinlit Dies (chevrons).  Punch: Project Life Corner Rounder.  Accessories: Stampin' Blendabilities.

Birthday Box: Colors: Blushing Bride, Bermuda Bay, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.  Stamps: Sweet Stuff.  Punches: Envelope Punch Board, Scallop Tag Topper, 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" Circles and Project Life Corner Rounder.  Accessories: Bermuda Bay1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain and 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin' Write Markers.

As you can tell, this set is perfect for so many occasions and especially nice for creating things for the young people in your life.   You can tell from the list of supplies under the picture I colored some with the old regular Stampin' Write Markers and some with the new Blendabilities.  I didn't necessarily do a lot of blending when I used the Blendabilities, but notice how smooth the color goes on, even when you are just coloring and image.  There is a definite difference between the two. Hopefully, they will be available for everyone to order soon.

So which project is your favorite?  Leave me a little blog love below and let me know what you think.  Then head on over to Mary's Stamping Happenings for a look at another new stamp set: Age Awareness.  Happy Hopping!

New Fry Box Bigz L Die

The new catalog features both a new hamburger box die and a new french fry box die.  I knew I wanted to get one of these for my customers to try out at my All-You-Can-Stamp Buffet, but I debated back and forth over which one to choose.   Finally, I picked the fry box:

Colors: Bermuda Bay and Tangelo Twist.  Stamps: Work of Art and Regarding Dahlias.  Big Shot: Fry Box Bigz L.  Punches: Banner and Hexagon.  Accessories: Bermuda Bay 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

So glad I picked this die.  It is so simple to put together and so cute! It was very popular at the class with lots of people making several for their coworkers or neighbors.  Love projects like that! I probably will still get the Hamburger Box die eventually, but for now, this will do.

Don't forget that Friday is the Stampin' Addict New Catalog Blog Hop.  You won't want to miss this one.  We'll see you then!

Traveler Father's Day Card

I did not intend to take two weeks off from blogging.  But things have been a little hectic at my house the last couple of weeks.  First we decided to do some major yard work in our backyard so I spent about 10 days doing nothing but that.  We've been in this house for four years now and I've always hated our backyard.  It's was just blah!  But after tearing down a fence, ripping out sod, and planting a couple of trees, a few shrubs and many, many perennials, it is looking much, much better.  Now we eat dinner on our deck more often than we don't and are enjoying our yard more and more.

Then I had my big customer appreciation/catalog kickoff event to design and prep.  And that took every waking minute I had last week.  I'm happy to report that it was a smashing success.  A huge thanks to everyone who came!

Now I'm back to normal.  Or at least as normal as my life gets with one kid in school and one kid out of school and swaps to make.

Here is one of the cards my customers made at my event this past weekend.  I put a Father's Day greeting on this one, but I gave my customers the option of several other greetings as well:

Colors: Soft Suede, Naturals Ivory.  Stamps: World Map, Traveler and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Big Shot: Itty Bitty and Circle Framelits.  Accessories: Burlap Ribbon, Typeset Designer Specialty Designer Series Paper.
I love the look of this Traveler Stamp Set.  It's kind of got a vintage feel to it and it celebrates traveling which I love to do.  However, I admit that I stared at this set and struggled to come up with something to make with it.  But I think this did work out in the end.

I do love the new Typeset Designer Series Paper.  It's lighter weight than anything we've had like it in the past and you get 24 sheets for $12.95!

I can't promise that there won't be another two week break in blogging this summer, but it won't be this week.  Wednesday, I'll be showing you the new Fry Box Big Shot die and Friday is the Stampin' Addict's New Catalog blog hop!  So be sure to stop back then.
